An Oklahoma fishing license is required, which can be purchased at Arbuckle Sports Center in Davis (580) 369-2687.  There are several boat ramps and camping facilities.

Finally, the Buckhorn Campground offers 177 sites in four loops. Loop C and D have electrical hookups for recreational vehicles. The campground offers the best amenities with showers, dump station, boat ramp, swimming area, fishing and direct access to hiking trails.

Arbuckle Lake General Information

Lake of the Arbuckles is formed by the Arbuckle Dam, which is a feature of the Arbuckle Project. Arbuckle Lake sunsetThe Lake is located at the confluence of the Buckhorn, Guy Sandy and Rock Creeks. The area presents unusual opportunities, combining recreational use with scenic, scientific and historic values. The Arbuckle Project regulates flows of Rock Creek, a tributary of the Washita River in south-central Oklahoma.

Less than three hours away from Dallas/Ft. Worth and an hour from Oklahoma City, Chickasaw National Recreation Area is an ideal place to visit for a day, a weekend or a week. Open year round the cool waters are inviting during the blistering heat of the summer and the tepid waters offer quiet reflection along the many trails. The scenic beauty of the Arbuckle Mountains is a surprising national treasure waiting to be explored.
